perhaps you were following the various Bible discussions that prompted that thought?

No I was watching a broomstick wielding brawl in the church of the Holy Sepulchure in Jerusalem where monks of various Christian sects were busy beating the crap out of each other while in a nearby part of the Mideast Moslems if different flavors where wacking each other with car bombs. Remember the Monty Python movie "Life of Brian" where the prophet Brian lost a sandal and a drinking gourd and there is a schism among his followers, some worshiping the sandal they found and the others the gourd they found?

Those two things make me a bit wary of most religions. The version of Buddhism where all have some of the Buddha spirit and we all share a oneness with the universe appeals the most.

As to deck chairs and the titanic, it was just the wonderful chance juxtaposition of the two posts. Because the post change position according to responses, I could have been the only one to see it.

I hope we all respect religious views of others, and I worry that people will get hurt or confused by these discussions, especially humble people. But Cornel, for your own sake, please reconsider this particular line of reasoning, if you can call it that.

I've tried to do a search about you and got a few results but of course I cannot be sure they are actually you.
Most of the guys that debate with you here are pretty open about how they are, where they come from and what they do. Its called being friendly

How about you give us an idea about who the mystery man 'Cornel' is and what makes him tick. I am genuinely curious.
