      I think I've posted a similar screenshot over a year ago, but now I added a userscript that inserts a SketchUp preview on every model page in 3D Warehouse.

            Most of it is not my work, it is the plugin mozplugger. It works the same like when you embed flash or youtube. I added a script that inserts %(#008000)[<embed type="application/x-wine-extension-skp" ...>] into 3D Warehouse and then mozplugger loads the corresponding application.
            On closer inspection you could see that the model is downloading while I do other stuff with the mouse (it takes little more time to load than just youtube).

              Hrm...sounds like some sort of Mac/Firefox magic then? I'm on PC and Chrome. I wonder if there's something similar. It's a very nice feature.
