Yes, it's one of the procedural noises (Perlin) notice I scaled it down to 100.00
-
Fast and GREAT, what more can one say.
-
So you just dragged and dropped the Perlin procedural after scaling into the bump slot?
That whole Procedural stuff is still Greek to me I'm afraid. Same for Sigma in the Structure tab. Anyway, thanks for the info

I dropped in the 'More Settings' menu, scaled it and dragged to bump slot.

Penny drops

I can see segments in the tape - other than that it's completely convincing. Looks great.
-
yikes

Hard to tell "fact" from "fiction" with your super work, Pete.
Thank you for the mat.@unknownuser said:
...but the more you play with Thea the more you want to know.
How true, Rich.
-
Looks great, but I wish the seam around the case was rendered as well...
-
Flippin brilliant Pete
-
If you already posted in the challenge, can I use it as mine ? downloading and opening it in Sketch-Up should not take me over the 30min limit ))))
-
Whatยดs all the fuss about the seam? Wasnยดt it visible on actual cassetes anyway
-
Just looking at the image. . .I just wanna pop it into my '93 Subaru GL Tape Deck right now and listen to My pirated copy of "The Stranger" by Billy Joel.
How are you with 8-track?
-
Very nice - the only improvement would be if it could turn into a robot bird
-
looks perfectly realistic - remembers me of the time when i was recording songs from radio/tv and made mixtapes i carried around in my car for months
great work, as always!
-
Outstanding Solo!
-
Perfect , maybe too much so. To me the only tell of these renders are lack of minute imperfections such as dust, fiber pieces, smears, fingerprints, or dents ... Those tapes would sometimes crinkle similar to the seen segments even.
-
Very nice Pete.. I love it.
-
Quite amazing, Pete!!. I just hope you were paid for this work....

Crinkle, bend, melt - and finally be sitting roadside after being tossed out the car window!
