Lee, I think I'll draw a few of the buildings from Beamish, they have a little character which is becoming scarce. You can have the model if you want it.

Hello TLD, there's a walkthrough of how I model in Catchup 3. The only thing I can recommend is to work on your textures (PS ect} before applying them to your model.
