Is this possible with SP?
-
Hi
I finally decided to download SP yesterday and I've been playing with a box with cylinders, inputing numbers and trying to understand what happens.
Now, I want to learn to use it because I have a specific project that I'm not sure if can be done with SPAs english is not my language an image will explain it better:
The first belt drags a bottle to the second belt. Once it reaches the "goal" it stops
The second belt rolls and places the bottle in the lift and stops
The lift goes upI placed a hinge in the first cylinder and a motor in the 2nd one, made static the belt (If I don't do this then if falls and the bottle also falls)...
After doing a couple of dumb tries SU crashes
will I have to place it on the ground or something?I'm totally newbie here, so will apreciate any help.
Thanks -
Well it's a pretty complex model if you want to do it mechanically.
SketchyPhysics doesn't have flexible objects so those belts would need to be chain belts (like tank tracks) and those are infamous for their unreliability not to mention the lag of all those parts moving at once.
Going one easier would be to just have several rollers/cylinders lined up that would carry the objects along.
Or the simplest one would be to just make it scripted.
I'll put some examples together, and I suggest checking out http://sites.google.com/site/sketchyphysicstutorial/ to get started on SP.

Won't be as easy as I thought
Hmm... that's what I feared after looking at some chain models I've seen here on the forum.
Then I imagine i can learn SP for the fun of it and do this animation with another tool.I don't need actual physics to take place, just explain how does this belt works.
Thanks for your help, I'll be needing it again for sure, right now I'm surfing throug the tut you pointed me to (thanks again) -
