      Hello all,

I am using Mac OS 10.5.8. I downloaded the cutlist program and installed it according to Fine woodworking cutlist info. After reading something about the layout not working through being downloaded with Safari, I deleted all the files and downloaded it with firefox and installed it unzipped. When I run the program I do get a list however, when I run the layout it comes out the same as the list. I am looking for a cut sheet type of information for hardwood and sheet goods. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong or what I need to do to fix this. thank you.

The layout portion of CutList does not display on Mac. It's nothing you're doing wrong. Just the way it is. If you tick the box labelled SVG, however, SVG images of the layout will be saved in the same directory as the SKP file is saved.

FWIW, 4.0.7 is old. 4.1.1 is the current version. That won't change the layout part on the Mac, though.

Is there a cutlist with layout program that will work on the Mac?

CutList 4.1.1 will work on Mac. The only part that doesn't currently is the HTML layout part. You can, however, export SVG images of the layout and open them in an image editor or your browser.

To my knowledge there isn't any other plugin that will create layout images.

I didn't notice until after posting this reply that you started this thread and that I'm repeating myself.

How do I upgrade to the 4.1? Do I have to uninstall the one that I have or just install the new one over the old one? Where do I find the latest version? I just installed the one that I have from a plug in list a couple of weeks ago and it was the latest one available?

Tick the SVG box in the main cutlist window and the SVG images will be saved to the same location as the model is saved. Then just open the images. If you use Firefox, I think there's a plugin to allow it to open SVG images. I think Safari will open them directly. You can also open them in Photoshop and many other image editors.

I don't use the layout portion of CutList often but when I do, it is usually to share with someone else. For those, I convert them to PNGs so they are more easily viewed.
