Is this book available for sale? Who wrote it?
Great modelling!
Thank you sir. About the book, funny you should mention that. A friend of mine has been encouraging me to put all of these studies and models in a book. So, it isn't for sale yet but it is in the works.

Hi gdbalck,
I'm an italian student of architecture, I saw your S.Carlo alle quattro fontane's model. I'm writing my thesis about the light in this church. Should it be possible to receive a copy of your model or just any views of the inside? I can imagine the hard work to create the model, so if it is necessary I can pay you (if you don't want too much money ) bye bye.Do you still need this? Feel free to contact me via private message here on the forums, I'd be happy to help you.

Hu, and I thought this thread was dead.
Well, I wasn't idle this whole time. I went back and developed the geometric studies even further. Here's a test print showing plan and section studies.
The columns came out a little funny but it is still a work in progress.
I've also restarted the model, this time based of the more detailed geometric studies.
Here are a couple of progress shots after a couple of days' worth of work.

Some more progress shots.
Old black and white picture from similar angle for comparison
The two arches are place holders, I was experimenting with twisting its profile as it rises from its base. Feel free to share any tips or ideas on how to build it and make look smoother.

Lower level nearly finished.

This is pretty damn cool!

Thank you sir. Here is another update.
Capitals are finished, dome shell is up.

Wonderful made ! Very easy for the eye !
I have done last year something similar to this , luckily the client forwarded me the drawings for each component(even so, was a pain), otherwise for sure I would have not taken the job... this kind of stuff requires all the neurons for it !
Too bad I can't post(yet) the drawings. -
Waw, that looks fantastic... Can't wait for the finished model!
-
Very nice model, Mike.
Are you planning on texturing it?
I look forward to seeing the final model.
Have a great week!

Mike,
I am speechless! Could you please reveal just a little of any sources you are using with reconstruction this building. I mean measurements etc. Or have you done it by yourself? All measurements, and architectural plans...?I am impressed, very impressed...

Can I have the sketchup file? Your model is amazing, I wanna make a 3d print of it.

Imageshack was losing bandwidth and traffic with hotlinking so they retro activly stopped hotlinking and replaced it with links to the content. It doesn't always work well.
-
I'm not sure what is happening, but I'm not seeing lot of images and Image Shack is again not playing nice.
What few pictures I did see look great!
