Does the SP ballistics algorithm use "Flat Earth" or "Curved Earth" calculations?
Flat is used for short range such as guns and mortars.
Curved takes into account the earths curvature for long range and suborbital trajectories. -
Is there a way to simulate a rope and pulley system?

SP uses flat earth calculations, but the matrix range isn't really big enough that it would matter

You can only roughly simulate ropes/pulleys via sliders, pistons and hinges, but that will all be very rigid
