Can it be possible, export whole pages into dwg in one action
-
I think you should include layout in your work flow... it has a powerful dwg export function.
it takes the materials in sketchup models and converts them to hatch pattens and raster images and allows you vector or raster exports or combinations of either.
my work flow is
sketch on paper,
import scans to sketchup,
model structure in 3D,
export to layout,
create sheets for each scene,
export to autocad,
dimension, labels and notes,
export to pdf. -
Thanks a lot ,I found that's really a good idea ,however, how to export dwg files without hidden lines?
-
What did you find?
-
I found LO could export dwg files well, but I still found all the hidden lines still be there, and I have to remove them by myself

Hi,
My plugin ADO is for you (exports all your scenes to JPG's, pDF's, DWG's and so on).
Go to Ruby Library Depot (actually down) and search for ADO plugin in the Files-Misc section.
It's a very old one, so please tell me if it works on SU7 or SU8
Regards, -
Didier, I looked at this package, and see that it contains a dll and "WIN32API.so". I tried to look up the function of "WIN32API.so", found numerous comments about it including the warning about having various ones. I think that one of the comment I read mentioned a version that comes with SketchUp v8. Since you asked for feedback regarding compatibility with V8, I wondered if it was OK to install your "WIN32API.so". I couldn't find one in the main SketchUp folder so am not sure about what I think I read.
Btw, do you use SketchUp's built-in exporter to export pages to dxf, or did you write your own?

I'm wondering why I've paid SketchUp $800 when all I wanted was DWG export... Doh!

Regards,Thanks for your suggestion, that's really I want.I download the ADO plugin, and I can see the "Automated 2D output"menu under the plugin menu, however,it has lost its function(su7)
I think it needs an update......

AFAIK it only exports dwg from the Pro version (i.e. the exporter itself is not included) at least that's what I found when tried with my SU 5 free back in 2006 or so - but I may be wrong of course.

Pencil sketches
Schematic design plans in Cad.
Build basic model in Cad by blocks, and link the blocks to production drawings,
Export basic model to SU,
Visualize in SU,
Export revisions to Cad as blocks, or revise in Cad and export by block to SU,
Export to render from SU,
Complete production drawings in Cad,
Print to plotter, or export to pdf.I have had to write a lot of tools in Cad, and SU to support my work flow. I guess the "holy grail" is for LO to become a full functioning 2d Cad production drawing tool. If Google added interaction with LO via the ruby api, I bet that could be accomplished in a reasonable time.

No, I didn't wrote an exporter myself, I used the built-in one (so you need Pro version for DWG export).
I'll check this on SU8, regarding the win32api.so problem, and will do a new release if needed.

ahh I feel better now...
-
Hmmm, does'nt work on SU8 here. It seems it needs a serious cleanup and rework

Holding breath, waiting for update. Let us know when you have something Dider. I know I could use something like what your developing.
Thanks for your work.

Just wanted to bump this post to see if any update has been done on the mentioned plugin.
Thanks
-
Would like to know if there is any update to this plugin yet.
Thanks
PS. Is there a mailing list or reader feed for the Ruby Library Depot, so I don't have to keep bumping this thread?
Thanks

as long as you're subscribed to this thread you will get an e-mail any time someone replies...

Thanks, but that was my concern. Would an update to the plugin be reflected on this thread?
-
that can only be answered by the One...
