First of all I'm excited to have found such an active Sketchup community. It's a fantastic program and have been using it for several years, but have mostly done boring work related projects with it. Lately I've gone back to school to study Digital Media and have found it quite helpful in my design classes so far. I wanted to share my final project for Visual Thinking (freshman level) and see what you guys think. The project was to be lines and color only, no texturing.

I've always had this image in my mind of a little village perched on the side of a massive building, overlooking a huge, boring, metropolis oblivious to it's tiny inhabitants. I was trying to convey the concept more than the details in a sketchy, storyboard-like style. Any comments and critiques would be appreciated. I've got a few more days before I have to turn it in, so any ideas to improve it would be awesome.

reminds me of this. . .. "The Time Machine" a weak 2002 version of the classic 1960 film. Was this your inspiration?

Ha! I knew I'd seen buildings like that somewhere before. I guess maybe it was a subconscious inspiration. Looking at that picture does make me want to keep working on mine.
