Hello!

This is PinkSkink, Goldenfrog's sister.

Im taking a high school physics course, and for extra credit my teacher has asked me to design an experiment and simulate it in a 3d program.

The problem with sketchyphysics is that if you try to drop a ball into an ice-cream cone shaped object, it won't actually fall into the cone, but rather will sort of float above its apex. So what I really need is another physics simulator. I'm wondering if any of you guys know about such a one?

Basically, it needs to have:
The ability to simulate centripetal force (the force that pushes you to one side when your car rounds a sharp corner)
Absence of bounding boxes
Thanks for your help! πŸ˜„

You can compose various bounding box part in sketchyphysics to build a convex solid (cone shaped, donuts, etc...).
I think that many game physical engine have the same limitations, try and see... If you really want an acurate modelisation using convex solid, for free, peraphs Blender is ok ? But I never used that...

PinkSkink and GoldenFrog. Hey at least your parents were creative!

I would also say you might want to give Blender a look or better bet would be to post your question in the Sketchy Physics section of the forum. Those guys should be able to walk you through it. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewforum.php?f=61

Thanks for the information! I think I'll do as you both suggest, and learn Blender. I already have it downloaded--I just don't know how to use it!

Thanks again!

Phun is fun for that πŸ˜‰
But it's only in 2D, maybe it's sufficient ? 😳

Well, actually I do need 3d. But phun looks like a cool program anyway! thanks for the link! πŸ˜„
