Best quote I've read in a long time, Jon Stewart on the war in the middle east:
"So if we give them money for oil, that allows them to buy weapons from us with a little left over to fund terrorist groups that we must then send our military over to fight, which costs a lot of money and fuel (which we buy from them). It's like we're the commission-less middlemen in a war we're waging on ourselves."

I seriously can't be the only one who feels these sort of practices are questionable. If it were any other country than the US - say Iran, or North Korea - there'd be serious consequences.
Chances are, other countries aren't too vocal in condemning these practices is because they are just a guilty.

I am so damn tired of trying to make Storefront or Curtainwall Wall elements work properly in Revit. Whoever wrote the code should be strung up by their balls.

I think you can team up with the Revit guys at my office. (Just don't mention the stair tool.)

Or railings for that matter. Must have been the same programmers.

Yes ... I'm afraid that may very well be true. Although I'm sure they're not that keen on p*ssing off the US either. Apart from Venezuela, that is.

HOW ON EARTH HAS QATAR GOT THE 2022 WORLD CUP?!
@unknownuser said:
Alcohol consumption is legal in Qatar, but with significant limitations. The few bars are restricted to expensive hotels and nightclubs. Expats in Qatar are eligible to receive liquor permits permitting them to purchase alcohol for personal use through the Qatar Distribution Company.
Alcohol is illegal to be shown and drunk in public.
Have FIFA ever met football fans?!
Russia in 2018 and Qatar 2022.

LOL, I really like Eddie Izzard.

There is never a reason to load the toilet paper so the paper falls down the back side and out under the roll. Never ever ever ever! Just don't do it.
(well, unless you have a child/cat that sits there and rolls it off easily when its installed the correct way)

Cuts to public services whereby most of the workers have their hours reduced or are made redundant, while the management get slapped on the back for saving money but they themselves carry on on the same salary as always. So who are they managing?
The managers then say they cannot do any work as they don't have the manpower. So presumably their just sat in their offices "prioritising".

Finally, a real senator, a man elected by the people, for the people. Mr Sanders I salute you!!
And he is neither Republican nor a Democrat, he is independant and has the balls to stand up to both sides.

Good to see, but the fact remains, that the government from its inception, by the framers and Madison in particular, was always about "protecting the minority of the opulent against the majority"
http://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/yates.asp
Has the full text and the particular "quote" is 2/3 rds of the way down. Here is a snippet as it's somewhat hard to find
James Madison
"The man who is possessed of wealth, who lolls on his sofa, or rolls in his carriage, cannot judge of the wants or feelings of the day laborer. The government we mean to erect is intended to last for ages. The landed interest, at present, is prevalent; but in process of time, when we approximate to the states and kingdoms of Europe; when the number of landholders shall be comparatively small, through the various means of trade and manufactures, will not the landed interest be overbalanced in future elections, and unless wisely provided against, what will become of your government? In England, at this day, if elections were open to all classes of people, the property of the landed proprietors would be insecure. An agrarian law would soon take place. If these observations be jsut, our government ought to secure the permanent interests of the country against innovation. Landholders ought to have a share in the government, to support these invaluable interests, and to balance and check the other. They ought to be so constituted as to protect the minority of the opulent against the majority. The senate, therefore, ought to be this body; and to answer these purposes, they ought to have permanency and stability. Various have been the propositions; but my opinion is, the longer they continue in office, the better will these views be answered."Nothing has changed.... It was always thus. :O(
