Google Qualified/Certified Geo 3D Developer

Surely, you can do great things with the plugin. But when it crosses Google's own interests, you have to be careful.
(I had to stop this) -
That's sad as it does not even seem to be (at least directly) against the TOS.
However it does not work for me - is it supposed to work or is it "idle" in suspended mode?
-
OK, I tested it again (it is long ago that I used it the last time, in april): It seems not to work anymore, maybe they have changed something with the javascript API.
It was supposed to search for new models by username, collection name etc. automatically and remember the settings for the next time (and to filter out models that you have already seen). It could have been an easier way to watch new models directly in 3D without switching back and forth in the 3dwh search results.
I had presented a primitive prototype (that I had made for my own) at the conference in march. They liked it and gave me support to make it work better. However, now things are different. Displaying any kind of content outside the 3d warehoouse page is not wished (although the Google APIs and their TOS give us developers access to use search results legally).

Seems to be true as they started to pull the embed codes off the model pages, too. There are no embed codes now for the English language pages and they are planning to pull them off every other pages, too.
Now I wonder what will happen with the GE Plugin and displayed 3D content from the warehouse now?
-
In 3D warehouse, they only moved the embed code from the bottom of the page into the new "share" menu ("Get the embed code"). So I don't know if or why they would want to remove it.
I changed a little setting and now it should work (after I couldn't release it, I never looked again for bugs etc): BuildingsExplorer
It is an example of loading kmz files and changing camera/location/layers and it uses official Google APIs whose TOS allow such use (so maybe they feared a 3dwh killer or whatever)Back to the main topic: If someone needs help in developing with the GE plugin, I have some experiences, so probably I could help

I really need to learn the ins and outs so I may want to ask for that help!
For the time being, I am examining the API and the docs (mainly the examples) but when I get stuck I will ask.

Hey Gai
I scored more points in the test than you did

%(#BF0000)[Congrats! ]
(I made it under 20 minutes though - instead of the 120 allowed! I may re-try again once - after two months, you can...)
So how are your other subjects? (I should chime in that forum more often...) What have you finished so far?
-
Hehe thanks. You're the boss. I don't remember how long... I think 40mins or so. I was multitasking...
-
I do not really know the "ethics" behind this. As an experienced forum ember, I really know where the knowledge-base is (all the help content and such). Am I allowed to use those? Would it be cheating or would it be allowed (just like I look something up when I cannot remember the solution)?
-
hmm... I guess that if it'd be forbidden, they'd mention that somewhere? Knowledge about where to find knowledge is itself also knowledge. That not everyone has. And knowledge is power... etc.
ps nice new avatar you got there gaius

Oh, it seems to be a team frenzy. Look at Pete (solo)'s avatar. IMO that happened to be a bit more "decent" than he actually is.

Hi,
first of all id like to say hi to everyone...this is my first post .
How many models should a person should have in 3dwarehouse and how many published, to be reasonable to go for certified geo3D developer "exam"?
Tnx

Well, I have one.
And I think two Building Maker models but I only made those when testing how it works. These add up to the qualification but they are only part of it.
