New work i progress Concept Bike

wow! that model is excelent
Kev: I must have spoke to nearly 100 companies before I got a job. It's a really bad time to look, but there are definitely jobs out there.
I was sending CVs to company after company and most weren't even replying. So I just started ringing them up and asking up-front whether they had any job vacancies. I telephoned nearly every architecture practice in Manchester, I discovered most of them weren't even considering taking on Part 1 Architects any more (year out placements). No point even sending your CV if they aren't gonna look at it, waste of time. And within a couple of days I got an interview, been working at the same place for nearly 2 years now.
dont look for "sketchup jobs".....go for CAD/3D visualiser or 3D artist.

I have just finished a 2 week stint with a Graphics company using 3D modelling to enhance graphics, has been really good experience i dont get down hearted and ye i must of sent of to so many, but i keep going i will g et something eventually love this line of work i want to branch into.

I would look at making your own website or online portfolio ~I have found that to be invaluable in the freelance work I have got in the past.
Nice renders by the way, I think a render with a wire overlay would look good for this type of technical model?
-
yeah its all about the networking isnt it lol hard work! You have good work tho I recognize some of it from your CG gallery it has been posted around here before like the spider robot and wheel robot thing, good stuff. What do you use as your main render engine for your other work?
-
ye , i keep the coroflot.com more up to date. and my main engine is Podium but i do use Kerkythea as its very good for glass objects.
Ye networking is good and I enjoy meeting and discussing design. i get excited with designs and renders and modelling.. all of that
[attachment=0]lines .jpg[/attachmentBtw Liam just had a look at your blog, looks like you have some good stuff, im going to be adding a links to other designers page onto my website, you add the link if you like?
-
ok shall try that, thought about it tbh with the wire. and i have a site. http://www.kevinboultondesigns.com thats my link, and i have my portfolio on Coroflot.com too, getting my name out there

Just working on a nicer graphic for the side and sorting some reflections out, more post be up soon
-
This design is like nothing else, looks great.
For the techique you use magnetic wheels and electromagnetic based engines ?
-
Nice job so far - but I have a question (from a person who doesn't design bikes). Shouldn't the wheel axles be in the center of the tyre? I'm having problems visualizing that one unless you want a piston method for your wheels.

hey, the wheels are based on hub motors, give it a google. they are in use in some products out there. Magnetics and electromagnets would also give a cool concept, could PS some magnet waves in there , but these are based on hub motors. I don't design motorbike normally this was a experiment and to see what concept i could generate to give it a futuristic/urban look
No PP as yet.
-
honda have a concept using the same sort of wheel design.
im working on detailing the wheels as we speak too
-
the current for render engine (someone correct me if im wrong) doesnt, but i have another real time engine i can use for that so will try that also , thanks for all the comments and feedback this model and image is growing nicely
working on the wheel detail now
-
Awesome model, Kev_N.
For rendering, you should try using HDRI if your rendering engine allows it. It will give it a new realistic dimension and depth to your renders.
Best,
_KN
-
It's amazing... you should try to put it into a futuristic urban scenery, only if such thing would exist as a HDRi environment image
the model comes up pretty realistic when you work on it more and more and more keep it up, looking forward for some new images of the concept.
-
cheers ye im detailing and then when im totally done the model should give a lovely render and then i shall tablet draw in and finish it i love working on these things. also very grateful for feedback
-
Ok i also have a question
will this provide a high res if i render it as view point resolution as the tv is at a higher res to my laptop(hdmi connected, duno if that helps)
having a play around and the pics are coming out massive. so im thinking its working.
if so i think all models going to be rendered on my tv screen also now working on the environment. thinking urban setting
-
Updated render
getting there slowly,
working on an old factory
-
That old factory looks very good, pretty industrial as the bike when it comes to a modern contrast over a 1800 scenery, with futuristic background, big utopia for artists and for stargazers who saw the future high as we look at it now.
Don't know the job with the resolution... I render and model only on my laptop and sometimes on my home PC, and never tried this.I really like those wheels, and you never know, someday this might come alive...
