Just thought I'd ask you guys this question, as your a lot more technically minded than a lot of my other friends! ๐Ÿ‘

It's mine and my wife's 30th birthdays in October and we're having a big joint party! I want to rather than hiring a DJ, mix my own cd's to pla (the money we save will go towards food and beer!).

When I say 'mix', i simply mean 'merge a song into another' - similar to how a dodgy mobile dj would do it. Itunes '0 seconds between songs' doesn't really work when cd's are burnt.

So, is there any (preferably free!) software that could do this?

    Ta!

Another possibility: Audacity. Open Source. sourceforge.net ?
Do not know if it does "dissolve segue". But it is an editor with such things as pitch and tempo modification.
I don't think it is multichannel at this time?
        Hope this may help.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

VLC http://www.videolan.org/ is another very good free player, plays nearly every format.
