Hobbnob's WIP Thread

Thanks Liam, heeding your advice I decided to do some work on the engine:
And as a result of this I am currently modifying the wings to fit the new engines:
It was mentioned earlier about me learning about circuit building and also organic modelling. No work yet on the circuit front I'm afraid, but I had a look at BTM's organic tutorial and have so far got this:
-
Done a bit more on the wing/engine connector:
And also remodelled the head:
-
My first post, it's for a project I decided to start about an hour ago now, for the firefly spaceship from the film "Serenity" and the series "Firefly". Anyways, here is the real thing:
This is my first sci-fi model so i'm not really expecting good results, but i'll keep going and see what happens
Here is my current progress after about half an hours worth of modelling: -

non sketchyphysics
Yeah basically. The organic modelling sounds good, i've never even thought of doing that, looks very difficult, but i shall try. I'll see what I can do with circuits as well. No progress on the serenity, been working on Nola's louisiana sketchyphysics. Now then, time to learn organics

Lookin' good! But where the wing will be looks kinda weird, like you strayed from the tutorial! But it looks fine w/o Hidden Geometry on. I should really get back into organic modelling, it was really fun for me! PS if you want to see my best organic model, see my Toucan or Seal

Fraid not, followed the tut to the letter, there was the result
-
Little bit more work, moved one of the solar panels, put the name on it, and added a bit more detail to the head
-
Well, the bird (i assume, if not, i apologize, i am really tired from a busy day!) looks awesome. So does the SP Ship. Can't wait to see both!

Starting work on a track, working against a mate to make the next track for motorsketch 2. I myself am making a fictional WRC super special stage:
-
Awesome!!!
-
Cheers mate, but how can I improve? Saying it's 'awesome' over and over again is all very well and good but it's not helping me at all. The reason I put this topic up is so that I can improve from other people's criticism, not as a showcase.
-
XD Sorry, mate. Well, if I were you, I would maybe add another route so people can have a choice of which way to go on the track, understand what i mean?
-
Fair enough, may be a bit tricky getting the ai to do that but I'll see what I can do
-
The AI will follow only their individual routes, you can make each one drive wherever you like
-
Yeah, make some take one route and some take the other!
-
Fair enough. Need some input here, I have absolutely no idea where to put the second route. Here is the circuit plan:
The finish straight is the long straight that isn't mud
As you can see, I have made this a night circuit, and put up a couple more barriers to stop the AI getting stuck. Here is a 'crowd's eye' view:
-
I think I know what you're talking about when you talk about the location, it's not a bridge, it's a jump.
-
Somewhere where the bridge goes over the track...

Yeah, actually another plan is to put the branch off at the start and have it elevated for a while
-
Nola, went with your idea:
You can see there that the second track runs around the outside of the circuit, and rejoins about a third of the way through the circuit. The new route is almost perfectly balanced with the rest of the track, which results in cars meeting at the end of the second route, as seen here:
