Well, another shot from the other side; now there is the city gate (and Aladdin with his magic lamp in the background), too...
The foreground tree was not intended to show some DOF - it's just too low res.

I did not mean it was not on the ground, but in the showing composition seemed to me that the cow seemed floating... Only a matter of composition) -
Ah, OK, I see. Well, that part is the "art" part and I am not really good at it. To me, a picture is good when everything that is important can be seen.

Here it clearly visible how "empty" the whole thing still is. But true that I did not contract to build the whole town!

Well, last two "entries" in this series... The second image (of course rendered with a higher preset - progressive exterior in Twilight - and much bigger size) became the "winner" for a display on the site (now there is already an underground car park and a face-lifted square on top) where they will put an info board out.
To make the two buildings somewhat "different", a modified the texture on the left one a bit (added some "weathered" effect on the texture image although from this angle it is not too apparent)

Nice renders boss..though i would prefer the yard a bit more messy(maybe some random grass and some more tools ) .

Yes, indeed, that would be better. But note that the population of the town at the time was mainly German and they are a pretty tidy nation!
But seriously; this file was already so huge that I eventually even had to lose the "furred" grass in front of the buildings.

When you next visit the UK try and schedule a visit to the Museum of Welsh Life. I think you would enjoy the day out. It is also free, but might not be after the next round of spending cuts.

Thanks Bob, interesting (and nice)videos. We also have something similar - at a couple of places in Hungary but the biggest is just a bit north of the capital, in Szentendre although that mainly displays "folk" architecture from all around the country and some of the neighbouring ones. I could not really decide what video to showcase so here is a whole search result on YT.
I used to work with the Bath Heritage Gang as well as with the Chichester Municipality and when visiting them, the also took us to some really nice similar places in the countryside. However next time I go to Western Britain, I will definitely try to include your suggestion.
@Ely; I never "finish" a single project. I may stop developing it at a stage (especially when I have already got paid) but you can never say that i could not bear some more tweaking.
Now this model already has some four times more polygons than my "old" (and never finished) Gothic project where I have all the ribbed vaulting and such detailed inside

I think Gaieus used a bumpmap with a cloudstructure. I also used one for my tramway project. I've made a seemless texture with Photoshop and mapped it with twilight over the surface. If you want, I can upload the texture tonight.

that would be great! i just figured a way to do it with the jitter plugin as well, though it takes a little more time than a bump map.

Well, initially I used a simple white image as diffuse and used a generated cloud cloud map as bump:
Then I used a stucco texture:
that I exported and applied this fractal tiling cloud on it (also added some more contrast so not only the clouds but also the marks as it was "plastered" on the wall became stronger).
Then on the other building, I edited the diffuse image and added some worn, weathered effect on it (not very "perfect"):
As the texture positioning is separate on each floor, I could position it nicely on the surface as if the dirt had been washed down from the horizontal beams.
and sorry guys but I am just realizing that I misspelt "stucco" all the way in the filenames...

wow, i had no idea you put that much into it. it shows up even better in the SU screen shot, specially the weathering. thanks for the instruction Gaieus.
