      Hey fellas,
Any idea whether Earth or Maps resolution differs from one and other? [free version of Earth]

      If so, which is better?

Well, in my place, they are exactly the same.
Now that's a different question whether you can extract (save) better quality images from one or the other. As I have the free GE (which only allows screen resolution export), I guess it's all the same (not as if there were any better imagery in my place than that at all).

thanks Csaba, I I thought the case. I did have a subscription to the now defunked Earth Plus which allowed you higher resolutions exports....

I just have a 15Ha site that I want to drape an aerial shot over and zoom down pretty close. Will be interesting to see how pixelated the image will be....

          cheers,

you can save multiple images and use 'photomerge' in photoshop to stitch them together automatically.

it may not solve your resolution problem but it works great for large sites.

here is a video tutorial, quite a funny photoshop series.
