Hi I am wondering if there is a way to turn off portions of the google terrain and imagery within GE so as to replace with terrain / imagery that i have created.
I am wanting to recreate a historical construction sequence simulation for Sydney CBD (1788-1820) and have this be available to view in GE. As in most cities terrain has been heavily engineered over time away from what was "natural"
I am envisaging a number of ways of doing this (in order of preference)

      1. Turn off terrain / imagery tiles within GE and have them replaced by my terrain / imagery tiles.
      2. Float the whole new image and terrain set above the existing one. Will look a bit suspect but is the most feasible at the moment.

I know that i can overlay an image in GE but I would ideally like to change the terrain as well.

        Hi Job,

        1. Swapping (changing the original) terrain is not possible at the moment although there are some hints that Google would make this possible in the future so...
        2. ...currently this is the only way to go IF you need to go underthe current terrain (building something above is possible as that will cover the original one).

        Gai...
