Just read and viewed to videos for the new Autocad 11. The 3d Free Form Design tools look very interesting, and similar. Anyone have comparative comments?

Yes, it is good but AutoCAD's performance in 3D is nightmare! And the interface is also very slow - i mean the palettes and dialog boxes are slow and clunky! Try to import some mesh data and you gonna kill it! There is a 30 day demo - try it! I think that the professional and expensive 3D card is a must with AutoCAD! But when I open the same model in Rhino and it is flying ... ๐Ÿ‘Ž ๐Ÿ‘Ž

          Dedmin,

Yeah, I'll give the demo a try. Sounds like Autodesk is getting close, but close enough.

Have you just tried the demo or do you use 2011 on a regular basis?

Not really - where I work they have it and I tried hard to get use to but no way! To slow and uncomfortable and has a lot of tools that I don't need. Rhino has much better tools for work with curves and huge import-export options!
