Hey for the next version of SU and LO, can you open Ruby Scripting to LO so that will enable plug in development for full BIM implementation and professional construction documentation so that I dont have to be forced to use Revit at work and make me love my job again. Seriously....Revit is making me want to leave the profession of architecture.

LayOut is (or at least could be) a very powerful tool for many people and supported by plugins, it could really rock indeed!

As it is now with SU, the development can spare themselves from adding zillions of new features and can concentrate on the core development (mainly speed and real-time rendering) AND widening the bottleneck for running ruby (and maybe adding new areas where plugins can be added).

If LayOut took this route, they could do the same with it and the community could take care of new features.

      Gai...

Not sure how this works, but isn't SU written in Ruby? Can LO, if written in another language have a ruby api? Anyone who can clarity?

No, SU is written in c++ (or some other variant of c.) I think the ruby api works by calling the relevant c++ functions in SU when a script calls the equivalent ruby method. Id guess a ruby api for LO would work in similar fashion.

To sbsaint, it has certainly been mentioned before. Would be worth sending a PM to bjanzen and seeing if theres any update.
