Putting my portfolio together......

ah you have a keen eye. this page troubles me also!! I'm working on it now! I agree its hard to read, cheers!
-
I'm in awe with your work, Oli. As others have said everything flows beautifully.
My only crit (and its NOT you, just wondering HOW) - How will they fit that pipe so it lines up perfectly with the holes in the beams. Those are going to be some costly custom beams to ensure that happens.Rick

Great stuff, Oli.
I do agree with Jeff about the third image. That one is very hard to read due to the reflections and stuff. It is quite busy and it is difficult for the eyes to focus on something.
Good luck!

WOW WOW WOW Oli thats fantastic. How far you have come. Thats one impressive Portfolio's
Want to make me one. -
Oli, Is there a specific kind of job that you are trying to get? Perhaps if so, the portfolio can address that position.
-
Mate it looks great, not sure though I like the images faded over the top of each other - tends to throw out what are some nice images!
The other thing I think is very important if this is to gain work opportunities to be clear if they are your designs, or part of a team or simply your visuals, if this is not clear and the question is asked and the answer differs to that perceived I would imagine the response would be very negative!
Also mate - never forget the old term "Make white space your friend"! All is looking very cramped! Could you not afford more paper?
-
cheers for all the comments
the portfolio is for university not a job application. there's also an interview so I guess i can discuss involvement etc then.

Its Oliver alright. So, no surprise. Excellent oli.

Awesome portfolio pal.....really ... let me guess you've taken a full fledged training in Advanced SketchUp and training yeah?? Really amazing work once again... you've truly inspired an architecture student like me........
-
oli, you are hired! come by the office at 8AM on monday.
-
Yes go oli, what are you expecting for?
Common edson, hire me, what do you think about it? You don't search for a simple visualization, aren't you? -

NO! I learnt everything from this website! also, the podium and twilight forums helped me up-my-game, so I thanks all the members there for helping me polish up my presentation skills (which I was very seriously lacking; I had ideas but couldn't communicate them effectively)
I only made one sketchup model at university, everything else was hand made and hand drawn. 3D programs scared me a bit until I discovered this wonderful software and all the awesome plugins!its important to master your hand before you master the computer IMHO.

keep at it. its just a matter of patience, experience and willing. I still know nothing and I've been working/studying for nearly 5 years. I dont think I'll ever stop learning and discovering new horizons.

you know edson, if I had a plane ticket I would be there! you are a fantastic architect.
I just hope my university find it impressive! there is LOTS of competition!
Thank you all for your truly kind comments. Glad you came by!

oli is absolutely right. persistence can take you very far.
although there is a lot of nonsense on the internet, looking in the right places can teach you a lot. i learned all i know about sketchup from the forums and blogs and the 2 or 3 books that have been published about it. as for rendering, i was an absolute zero until i started visiting forums like kerkythea's and podium's. i can safely say all i know about rendering came from those forums and from here.
anyway, good luck with your application.

Very nice!
-
I am crossed over there.
I found that it was a great work, very accomplished. simon -
thanks guys! and thanks for the good luck edson, i will need it!!
