 Looking at all the pictures of that ship actually made me feel a bit nauseous. The fact that you didn't even get in the top 15 made me even more sick. And this made it in before you? That's just wrong.
"Wow" doesn't do your models justice. I was going to maybe post my sci-fi temple, but now? Excellent work!!!
@ SketchupNoobie: Thanks, John. I really appreciate your support. Yeah, I was very disappointed by the whole thing.

Ahhhhhh i wish I had seen this have been so busy I would have submitted again oh well something similar will come up again one day I guess!
on another note I am back while the holidays are on trying to make a shield helicarrier form the iron man marvel universe as the film is out next year!@ Liam: I resubmitted a revised simplified version to the new contest. However, it seems like people are getting angry and confused this time too. Nobody has heard from CCP and the voting was supposed to start already. Oh well...
I saw your helicarrier in your thread. Very cool. Looking forward to seeing the finished model.

Hi guys,
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

CanΒ΄t believe I missed this -leaves me speechless!
Unlimited imagination plus some serious 3D skills ... a killer combination! Bravo, maestro!@ numbthumb: Thank you for you nice comment.
A friend a mine asked me about the wireframe Sketchup of the Jaguar XJ 220 that I did a render earlier.
I would usually use orthos to build it. But due to time constraint (I was in a rush to finish it for the ASGVIS-V-Ray interview), I downloaded a model from the warehouse that was really low poly but had the dimensions and proportions that I needed to build my hi poly model on top of it. I also used some images for reference.
Thanks for viewing and have a great day!

Hi there,
Here's my latest render. I used one of my Sci-fi car that I did for the NVArt contest a few months ago.
I tried to make it look as realistic as possible with HDRI and backplate.
Sketchup model + V-Ray + Photoshop postwork as usual.
Hope you like it.
Best,
_KN

Hi guys,
For those who followed the WIP and final submission of my Eve Online Create A Starship Contest a few months ago, you probably remember my entry here:
There was a huge protest in the Deviant Art community as many great designs were not selected. Listening to the complaints, CCP (the company that does EVE Online) reopened a new contest. Once more, people were disappointed. A lot of us did not know if our entries were reviewed by the CCP art staff as we could not see all the submissions and compared them against each other.
Here's my revised submission. It was a much simpler presentation with a color render added. I also changed the name to Pandemonium. Thanks to Bryan for letting me know about the second contest and suggesting the new name of the starship.
Again, my sharship was not amongst the finalists, but the ones below were selected with 40 something other designs.
One thing for sure, I don't think I will do any contests organized by Deviant Art or CCP.
But at least the contest was a great opportunity for me to create that starship. I will probably sell the 3D model in some sites like Turbosquid.
Have a great week!

Hi guys,
It's nice to be back. I apologize for the lack of updates the past half year. Things have been quite hectic.
My grandfather passed away a few months ago. I spent a few days in Los Angeles with my family to attend the funeral.
Back to San Francisco, I was really busy finishing the game Rift that was shipped on March. You can check out the website here if you're into MMO: http://www.riftgame.com/en/. So the NDA was lifted and I now can share some of my concepts/Sketchup models that I did the past 3.5 years. You can see them in the Fantasy thread: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=27028
I also worked on some sci-fi stuff for Trion's Defiance MMO: http://www.defiance.com/en/. However, since the game is not out yet, I cannot show you my Sketchup models due to NDA.
But here are some personal projects.
As usual, modeling was done in Sketchup; texturing inside Sketchup and done in Photoshop; rendering with VRay for Sketchup; postworks in Photoshop.
Thanks for viewing and have a terrific day,
_KN
