SU 6.0 latest version?
-
I bought SU Pro about 6 years ago - and love it! For the last 3 years I've been working for a studio that uses MicroStation. But now I'm starting my own company and want to go back to SU:
My question is this - my SU tells me, when searching the web for updates - that it's the latest version. It says SketchUp 6.0 (6.4.245) when I click 'about SU'.
But on your site I see a version 7 available...
Why is this?Best regards Lene, Copenhagen, Denmark

bcause 7.1 is the current version. the check for updates probably only checks for patches/updates to the version your using ie. ver6. not pay for it updates such as version 7.
-
That's odd - I keep an SU6 installation side by side SU7 to test plugins while I white them, and it keeps nagging me to update to SU7.

is your ver6 pro or free??

At home I think it was the free. Maybe it was the Pro expired. At work it was the Pro.

Ver 7 has a checkbox: Preferences > General > Software Updates
Did version 6 have this?If not, Registry: HKCU\...\Preferences > UpdateDefaultOn = 0|1
(at least ver 7 has the registry key...) -
Just to let anybody interested with the same problem know, it turned out I had to pay for an upgrade from 6 to 7. (totally reasonable, old license was 6 years old, and I paid 82 euros to update).
Have a nice day.

You can get older SU version from here:
http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=60107Even goes back to SU5. Was a quick Google of "download older sketchup" - first one on the list.

Or did you actually want the new SU 7 version? And you're surprised you had to pay to upgrade?
