I know, there a lot of issues... anyway crits are welcome

Looks great.
Would make a great model for a 'Render this' thread.
-
....Render this?
Certainly after practising the lighthouse, this render was so much better in a certain way.
Though a couple of issues with the mats..etc etc but the water is already looking good! Way to go! -
thank you both, indeed the subject could be funny for a 'render this', but this model needs a few improvements to be ready also for closer shots.
@dspace: if you knew how this water is a bad material... -
I can almost see the Barracuda in the water. Great work.

You kidding me
It won't be translated I suppose. -
Great work! The render has a great feel to it.

relly nice render , ...distance palms need better colors, in my sight.. it is amazing that I've also rendered this model a while ago , on Twilight forum ,testing the water material pack of TWiR (http://twilightrender.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=614&start=30) and ( http://twilightrender.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=302&start=20)

thanks to Scott and Majid, in fact I didn't manage the materials so much, so I was surprised myself that somehow it looks so good. yours it's more accurated, but I still haven't found a good sea material that provides also blueish depth color without fake surfaces like mine, I believe it's surely possible but expensive in terms of rendering time...

Nice Render! Here are my observations:
- The palm trees are all the same - same leaf configuration, etc. It should be different because as we know, no two trees are alike!
- The material that the house is sitting on - is that rock? If so, I have yet to see trees growing out of rock (just trying to keep it real).
- The forefront palm tree and the grouped ones on the left-hand side, it appears to me that they are sitting on the deck. They need to be planted.
- The water looks great! So much that it makes me kind of seasick when looking at your rendering (I get seasick real easy).

very strict comment rick
okay I'll reveal the truth : the palms are plastic shilouettes so they can stand up on every terrain
As I wrote, the model is not mine, but I've to admit that I didn't noticed those oddities, the scene seemed charming and all details went overlooked
