Maxwell plugin on 64-bit Windows 7?
-
Hi, I am running Windows 7 64-bit, and skecthup 7.1 64-bit.
I can't the Maxwell plugin to work. I suspect the maxwell plugin is 32-bit. Does anyone know how to work around that, or whether a 64-bit plugin will be released, and if so, when?
Thanks in advance. Troels -

Thanks in advance. TroelsThere is no 64bit Sketchup. SketchUp exists only as 32bit. So I assume the Maxwell plugin is 32bit only as well, as a plugin running inside of a 32bit application can not be 64bit.

Ok, assumed sketchup was 64-bit when i installed it succesfully om my 64-bit OS.
But, if sketchup is 32-bit, then the maxwell plugin should work, i suppose.
Any ideas why it doesnt? -
32bit applications can run in 64bit OS. (But not the other way around.)
But 32bit drivers will not work on 64bit OSNot sure why Maxwell won't run on your machine. I don't have Maxwell myself. But I don't think it's a 64bit vs 32bit issue.
Maybe some of the Maxwell users here can answer. (Have you tried the Maxwell site's forum?)

I know there was a few issues with the maxwell plugin around the time they released v.2 so it might be something to do with that. You could always check out the maxwell forum to see if you can get an official response: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/
edit: seems to be a big thread about it here: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=107&t=32970

Moved the thread to the Developer's forum. We have reorganized so that the Plugin section is only a list of plugins you can download and use.
