Installation of Windows 7 updates hangs computer
-
Being a bit geeky, I've been slowly converting over to Windows 7 including my main programs onto a new fresh HDD. While still keeping my main Vista HDD, till I'm satisfied, that Windows 7 is reliable.
So it happened yesterday, on shutting down the Windows 7 HDD, The Installation of 5 of 7 Windows 7 updates, hangs my computer. I finally pulled the plug after 5 hours of supposed updating. Windows 7 still reboots but it tells me it needs to finish installing updates.
(yah right, do I want to go through this again!)I Googled this problem, .... I'm not alone,
curious, anyone here have the same problem? -
Well, updates have been generally smooth, but when I tried to install the buggy video card drivers from nvidia it did hang. Just out of curiosity, what antivirus do you have in Windows 7?

I have not had any problems with my NVIDIA geforce 8800GT, and I have not installed any antivirus software yet, I was going to do that task last. However I'm a bit reluctant to continue at this stage, due to the current problems. I have noticed that there are numerous updates to Windows 7. However I have not kept track of which update the OS was at when this problem occurred.
