Im wondering what SU users tend to use for their trees shrubs hedges etc.

I really dont like SU trees as they never really look good and slow the drawing down so much whether low or high poly.

I love using Pepe's Settree3D trees from the SU warehouse as they have very small file sizes and utilise images with the alpha transparent sections to create the branches - check them out!!! Many can be used in same drawing without slowing it down! Where can i get more of these, as i cannot find them anywhere!

Do people generally use photoshop/gimp to insert trees and digitally manipulate the scene so they look right?

Apart from when producing images using SU soley, when i use Kerkythea for realism i tend to use a variety of Xfrog trees - but of course these wont work with SU.

      Any help is appreciated!

Thats just what im after thanks Gareth! Pity they arent free! I assume they are made with the aplha channel image method, much like the settree3d? this seems to be a great method that oddly i cannot find other companies/people who sell or share! But Solo's efforts are def the best so far so thanks!

Very well done on your renders, i like a lot!

              Thanks for the mention Gareth.

siwilks, I never used .png or any alpha based images for my collection, if I had I'm sure I could have made them smaller in size but then the guys with Vray would not be able to use them so they can be used with Vray.

                siwilks,

they are good value.....you don't need to water them or fertilise them.....

                .....and they last forever...!!
