Copy along path lock one axis ruby
-
Sorry if this is old news but what I want to do is extrude/followme a face along a 3d curve. What I have is a pathway the goes down and around (see pic)
I want the extruded face to always have the bottom line level. (The pathway is always level across) I have tried the chris fullmer tools (great!) and I can place the faces (outline of path) but I can't join the faces? Do I have to join them with more lines?
The path is a walkway from a bridge to an island 3 meters below. Thanks for the help!

If I read this correctly, you want to create the walkway or road for the bridge along that path.
You could draw the profile and use FAK (Follow me and keep) Plugin. It does a follow me but without the twisting a normal follow me does.
I once created a similar bridge, before FAK was around.
I offset the line of the bridge path you have shown in your image to the width required. I then used Skin ruby to create a face, which I then extruded up to the required thickness using Joint Push Pull ruby. -
Thanks! I will try to find that plugin. The path has to be level across the walkway as it goes down. Sort of like a winding downhill stair case. I just wanted to do it with a component or predefined face. (Sorry if the question was basic)
Thanks!
Stuart
