Thanks all.
TR does not support Displacement mapping and there is no mention of Normal mapping in the manual.

Watt watt watt, you guys sure are switching on the jokes. Real live wires you are. I hope I can reciprocate and not be too revolting but I cannot refuse.
Here is another one of my ohm images out of the TR generator. Keep the comments coming… socket to me. Hopefully your C&C will keep me more grounded.

very nice Eric, how did you create the model?
-
I can really imagine this sculpture in the galleries at the Milwaukee Art Museum great image, communication, but I respect most the creativity of the art work itself.
-
Thank you Pete.
I used the 3D grid plugin to create points to snap to. Placed them in the general shape of a chair. Then I used the F-Spline tool from Fredo's BZ spline tools, set it to the maximum segments and then "traced" the chair path. Once I got that right (took a few tries) I hit save then ran the Pipe Along Path script. After that, because it was still a bit segmented, I ran Subdivide and Smooth, one iteration.
See, that was easy right?
I hope this has been illuminating. -
That was a bright idea, never Hertz to ask.
