RAILWAY DRAWING
-
As finished as it is going to be (gotta draw a line in the sand sometime) only thing that i will still do is "paint" it in some or other railroad's livery
Enjoy....From time to time i will post more detailed views of the loco, thanks for the support and encouragement

Hi dolf, awesome stuff so far, I noticed you experienced high poly problems. When I see the hidden geometry, such as in this image.
Here are some tips:
- Lower segment count a LOT e.g: default 24 to 10 or 12. arc 12 to 4 or 3 (except you want to render)
- Use layers to organize the model; works way faster for me
- Those steps could be double-coloured single faces; lower the poly a lot
Well, those are just my two cents
-
Thanks for the advice Ultimatez 32 i must admit that i have not seriously tried to master layers yet so this i will attend to but as to the low segment count in curves i am often tempted to go the other way 60 segments to a circle for the sake of "realism" ....... it is a failing that i have also getting rig of unseen geometry is somthing that i am very reluctant to do Example remove the left side of the loco if it is viewed from the right...but thanks i can see that you know my delimma

Durant!! what can I say....
"Eat a sandwich.Keep Jack bird swinging. "
......if i had any idea of what you mean or are saying i would comment.....so i will limit myself to thanking you for going to the trouble of commenting..thanks

D to the Olf,
It's all good to dream of trains... What monster of human creative discharge.
Interesting at every curve.
For me, the sandwich is the blasting reward, the fantastic steam engine of rewards.
Lately I've been onto a ham, swiss, and yellow mustard jag.
Jack bird love that toasted.
One day, a train I will ejaculate.

To D of the u of the rant...i think that i am getting the message....a small light at the end of the (railway) tunnel.....
"One day, a train I will ejaculate."
we can only wait and see?
Keep on smiling. -
Who is going to guess what my next project is?
Here are 3 clues -
A tank, tram, old dragline excavator, uhm that thingy that transports you up the mountain on a steel rope ?
-
No no no here are 2 more clues....
Marion one of the pieces of equipment you mention is related to this thing ..good try but no cigar
these are not really clues but it is one chance to show off the detail as sadly it won't be very visible when the project is finished -
Another Clue?...no just more detail
-
nobody guessed yet ...to late for the big prize because now it gets to easy
-
Must be a crane...the progress is great Dolf!
-
Sure you are right d12dozr but to late for the cigar.....thanks for the comment...i will be away for a few days so any further progress is on hold for now ...see later
-
going on the crane project is slow
and it is going to go even slower because......
I "discovered" a new locomotive the Brookville BL20G i only have a few photos and a data sheet on the loco....but i MUST model this loco first -
The Brookville BL20G has started to take shape...i have got great expectations for this loco she has got handsome? lines....
