      Thanks for the advice Ultimatez 32 i must admit that i have not seriously tried to master layers yet so this i will attend to but as to the low segment count in curves i am often tempted to go the other way 60 segments to a circle for the sake of "realism" ....... it is a failing that i have also getting rig of unseen geometry is somthing that i am very reluctant to do Example remove the left side of the loco if it is viewed from the right...but thanks i can see that you know my delimma

                    Marion one of the pieces of equipment you mention is related to this thing ..good try but no cigar
                    these are not really clues but it is one chance to show off the detail as sadly it won't be very visible when the project is finished

                              I "discovered" a new locomotive the Brookville BL20G i only have a few photos and a data sheet on the loco....but i MUST model this loco first

                                        AZPilot I am not the guy to do a Tut i am not doing anything which other guys are not going and doing it better than me, my models are nothing more than different shaped objects put together and no 2 trains of mine follow the same recipe each is unique ......but if i can help with a particular problem i will be happy to...
