The Train Thread
-
I know there are quite a few train lovers around here so i thought i should start a thread for any kind of train discussions. Also if you can, post some locos, trains even trams from your town, city, country.
I'll start off with some photos i took 6 years ago of steam locos made in Romania at Resita (read: Rheshitza) some of these were in use until the 1970s.
Hope you like them and will contritubute to the thread

Dear All,
A friend of mine (no, it really isn't me!) would like to try modeling steam trains. Does anyone know where he mihgt find suitable blueprints?
He took the attached photo of the Tornado quite recently (http://www.a1steam.com/).
Regards,
Bob

Hi Watkins, he could try searching http://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/trains/trains-0-9/
for suitable steam engines, there are quite a lot.
I love that quite a few British steam engines are still running and are well looked after, i wish i had more routes with steam locos for tourism over here.

Being in a train mood today, googling i stumble upon this interesting piece of history, an armoured Russian train from WWII, would be cool if someone would model it, i might try it...
http://hobbyport.ru/armor/kozma_minin.htm the blueprints are in there,
hope you like Russian

That armoured train is amazing, I never realized they had things like that.
I would love to create time to have a go at something like that. In fact anything WWII interests me.

Bob, you are welcome.
Dylan, hope you will model it , also the germans had something interesting on rails in WWII, here it is:
