      Here's a rather crappy video made while playing with the Cryengine Sandbox Editor.
      Just wanted to show how you can easily paint huge animated forests.
      Leaves, shadows, water refractions. All moving in realtime.
      The low framerate is from the screen capture app. Its very fluent in the editor.

        Have you spent time in the crysis editor? I bought the game so I could use it, but I still have not gotten around to working on it. Is it easy to get SU models into it?

            I havent used it so much but with the release of Cryengine 3 in the autumn I plan to test it some more.

              Wow, I looked at this app some time ago but the above images in RT are something else.

              Chris, I had a quick look around for possible ways for Sketchup -> Cryengine?. Check out this, http://www.crymod.com/thread.php?postid=165073

              *'First off you have to build your sketchup model with the game engine in-mind.
              That means minimum amount of textures, faces, etc...

              In sketchup purge all unused components and textures before exporting.
              Delete any hidden objects that aren't needed.
              Export it as a Google Earth 4 KMZ (This part is covered in the forums somewhere)
              Rename the KMZ to ZIP
              Unzip the folder
              Open XSI and use the "Crossroads" function to import the model file from the folder
              Once in XSI follow XSI tutorials on textures and model exporting to SandBox2.

              So far I have only exported two basic flashlight models into SB2 using this technique.
              I didn't texture them with any images, just simple solid colors.
              I then edited the material in the SandBox2 material editor later in order to re-use in-game textures for metals, plastics and glass.'*'

                Wow. That game has some beautiful imagery. Is that under Vista with DX10 or another OS? I played the demo and I don't remember it being that pretty.

                  I have Vista but it runs under Xp as well.
                  At crymod.com theres lots of tweaks (and props like european trees).
                  Some realism tweaks are really making the best of the engine but you'll better have a new graphics card.

                      No problem, 9800GTX+ x 2. I've already looked at getting a copy of Crysis out of the bargain bin in the game store, unfortunately it was out of stock.

                      This will work with regular Crysis, right?

                        Yes but the Warhead editor is newer and sometime this autumn cryengine3 is released...

                            Woah...Pixero, have you tried to import any arch scenes and gave them spin. This looks better than any mainstream render.

                                Absolutely gorgeous imagery.
                                Unfortunately, getting your head around Sketchup > XSI > Cryengine is a major workflow killer.
                                I tried for a while but gave up. I hope the PlayUp plugin will evolve into a usable tool.
                                SU straight to Cryengine with textures and everything in place would be awesome.

                                Another culprit is that you can't use the images produced with the Cryengine professionally. Licensing the CryEngine would cost an architecture firm some tens of thousands dollars.....

                                For the moment, LightUp would be a better affordable solution as a real time renderer. A little bit less of eye candy though, and you need to be careful with the poly count.

                                The 3Dsmax + Vray RT (real time) is another great combo but expensive...

                                In general, rendering real time definitely will be the future.

                                  Definitely that's what seems to be the biggest challenge. Still images and even videos are becoming "just" like "intros" for such visualization.
