Victorian fireplace

Kev
Great model, as far as texturing goes I do not think 'one' texture will work, I suggest making a few variations in PS as in reality the fireplace would have uneven wear, and heat damage one certain areas, scratches on others...you get what I'm saying right?
-
And maybe you can start with this texture. Works well I think.
-
Hey Pete, Yeah I get what your saying. However I was thinking of it being a brand new fireplace as opposed to an old one so the surface would be pretty clean and uniform. Here's the image that I modelled from to give you an idea what I'm after.
-
Oh thanks Eric, you snuck in there while I was replying to Pete. I'll give that texture a go.
-
That texture has worked quite well, Eric. Thanks for sharing!
-
ive got a good texture that might work, ill post it from work computer tomorrow. nice render
-
I like this Kevin. The iRender has produced a very good result.
Did you use Profile Builder with this model?
-
Thanks Dylan.
No, I don't have profile builder. I just used the good old follow me tool. Profile builder would be very nice to have though.
-
Here's the fireplace rendered with Podium to show the difference between the 2 renderers.
-
here it is:
its render15.jpg from the podium free textures, i just desaturated and darkened.
not sure how well it will work but if you scale it right i'm guessing it could give that cast iron texture.
-
Cheers for that Oli. I'll give it a try.
