DWG DXF file import size limit

Does exist a limit size of the importation of a format file DWG or DXF in SU? 1 mega, 10 megas 100 megas...
It is the same for SU free or SU PRO? -
i've never heard of an explicit size limit.
If your having trouble importing a large file id guess it was something to do with memory usage...

The units, Pilou, the measurement units. Well, I guessed that you aren't a footric guy so imported it in millimetres but the the church turned out to have a roofline of less than a centimetre so I guess I should've imported it in metres. Am I correct? (You know, with dxf/dwg files you have to know the untits they were created to import them correctly).
Anyway, it came in so small that a bunch of faces are missing so I'll try to import it in metres.

Normally it's an autocad file 2007 DWG but seems impossible to reload it inside SU

Well, it did come into SU. Interesting that the progress bar runs to 99% within less than a second and then it starts hanging there (but eventually loads the file). Now importing it in metres... Hold on!

In the import option better to keep "original drawing"? -
Well, it definitely seems to take longer (forever?) to import in metres now (still working).
Don't preserve drawing origin (generally) with CAD imports because if they are georeferenced (like mostly), they may get imported to somewhere (sometimes even hundreds of) miles away from the SU origin and you'll have all the OpenGL issues like clipping and distorting until you move everything back to the origin eventually anyway.
My "right" CPU core is working hard and SU uses some 230 Mb of memory.
Nice model, BTW. Is that a particular church or just a "general"one? -

OK, it's done. There are a couple of glitches like non-coplanar (and even missing) faces here and there (see attached) but overall it came through quite fine. Nice church, indeed.
It's a bit more than 10 Mb now. Would you like it? -

Is there a particular protocol in Autocad for manage project for reload it in SU? -
Mo9del more accurately than whoever made this model (see those glitches with the curved faces). Other than that, no (with 3D models at least). I've uploaded it to my server. Do you want me to send you the link?

Well, looking at the times of my answers, it took about half an hour to import. The machine is a Eurocom D700 T Enigma with a CPU is 3.8 GHz Intel Pentium 4 (with hyperthreading but it doesn't matter in this case).
