I'd love to enter this challenge; but darnit, my windows PC took a dump yesterday(watch out for the latest nVidia system drivers, at least on the 780i) due to corrupted USB drivers and I can't get into the comp at all thanks to only having USB mouse and keyboard. 😡 😡 😠

Not to mention my monitor picked today to die. 😒

Complaints, I has them! Don't close the challenge yet ☀ ! That is, unless there's a way to get Sketchup working on my Linux laptop!

😢 My Indigo gave me a great day to stop working 😳
          Anyone know the solution?

[Displacement activities.. you gotta love em]

Here's a candle model I found on 3dwarehouse just now. Just added the flame and made the base shiny metal.

The flame is animated in realtime but I can't upload the .mov file so I've put a 320x240 on Vimeo

                          Sure is.

The all new, all dancing v1.5 is hopefully out tomorrow too. 😍
(Which is the version that has all this color/texture animation support)

Is there also objects animation included. I seem too recall seeing that as well. Sure it looks very promissing.

(Unfortunately I have no time to try it ATM and it would only be a teaser 😒 )

                                Majid,

Your wax material is really great, would you share your settings ? KT's Sss is not the most documented topic...

                                😉

It's not that difficult, Eulgrand... 😉

I suggest that you go ahead and download the Transluscent.mat.zip from the KT Forum...
Take the "Milk" or the "Plastic transluscent" and play around with the colors and material settings... 😉

                                  Cheers

                                    Frederik,

You can bet I already did that, but something in my brain still has not get connected, and I can hardly figure out how Absorption, Emittance, Scatter and Falloff interact with each other (what do they control, is there a unit of measure for each of these parameters ?). All I could do until now was like throwing dice 😆

                                    Thanks for your kind attention.

                                    😉

Have you taken a look at page 35 in the Kerkythea Material Editor Guide for KT2007...??

Although it was originally made for KT2007, basics remain identical for KT2008 and the explanation Patrick have made is much more accurate than what I can do... 😉

LightUp 1.5 has been released today. There are a lot of improvements. Very good upgrade and it is free, I mean for an existing owners of the LightUp.

Here's my attempt. May add a different one later, I'm not entirely happy with how dark it is. Sketchup and Kerkythea with flames added in GIMP.
