I've been fortunate enough to get myself a new motorcycle - the BMW F800GS (see the pic attached, not my own but one I lifted from one of the website I read up about it). Mine differs only slightly from the motorcycle in the picture as it has smaller indicators with LED's inside (2009 specification).

I did a lot of soul searching, as I favour sports motorcycles, however this one grew on me and after a while I just couldn't resist the urge any more.

I read up all I could on a number of motorcycles, this one in particular and it is highly rated, doesn't kill the bank (well, completely) and has fair to good fuel economy - plus it is dual purpose!

I've had it for a month now and I honestly can't complain about the motorcycle whatsoever. Extremely ridable piece of machinery. I have yet to take it off-road though. From what I understand it is even better off-road (in off-road trim) than it is on the blacktop (in road trim).

Any other avid motorcyclists on the forum?

Now you must model it in SU.

              Toys for boys, sweet ride.

Um...looking at above illustration, is there a stand?

Hey Julian, nice wheels. I bet it is more comfortable than my ride...

This is my bike [well, was as i just gave it to my brother as i wasn't riding it....sniff, sniff...] so soon enough I will get those rumblings in the bottom of my gut that will get me prowling the bike shop floors again.

my previous ride was a '99 Harley Low Rider, yep quite a contrast!!

Bep, I intend to and am!

Daniel, I don't think I have the kind of time to model it unfortunately. I did check the warehouse but there isn't a model of it yet.

Mike, thanks, I know and and will.

Solo, there is indeed a sidestand and a mainstand. My bike also has crashbars and handguards fitted, also not in the pic.

Utiler, sweet bike! I am a bit of a Ducati fan as well. How reliable was yours and how many kilometres did you do on it? (I have heard a lot of rumours regarding reliability troubles.) Pity you gave it away, but better that way than selling it to some stranger.

It's actually back in my garage right now!!! My Brother ride it up for a wedding a few weeks ago and had a lift back to work so he said, best you look after this for a while....

So I get rid of it and then get it back!!!!!

reliability was fine, Julian. I only had it 2 years and did a bit of weekend riding on it and a few weekends away to the tablelands, [winding, hilly roads 😍 😍 ] and it went like a rocket. Not the most comfortable on long distances but if you give it some you want to be prepared to hang on......
