A plug-in to draw baseboard or wall base?
-
Is there a ruby to do this, or is it hard for someone to develop:
If you have a simple room, creating wall base is easy -- use the floor as an edge, and do follow me around the room with your profile.
But if you have inserted door components into the walls, this no longer works because the base runs through the doors. So you have to cut out the base where there is a door frame. Not a lot of work, using intersect with model, but sort of a pain. And then if you move a door, you have to mend the hole in the base.
So could a ruby do this automatically? You give it a profile and a path (just like follow me) and it draws the profile around the path but breaks it when it encounters a component in its way. Ideally it would be editable -- so that when you move the component, the base heals or moves the break.
Seems like this would be useful for anyone modeling interiors.
