        Very nice work there, Eric.

It's good to have a back up place to sleep, too.

Looks like you did a good job of organizing the project. I'd have used a plugin for that part but your graphical representation of the parts makes it easy in the shop.

        What's your next project?

A tool/mower shed with a covered deck on the side for the dog house.

Dave, what plugin would you use?

If that shed and deck are anything like the bed, it'll be a work of art.

I'd use CutList and Layout but that's just me. πŸ˜‰

Very nice job! That's my favorite use for SketchUp -- designing something and building it. πŸ’š πŸ‘

Is there a way to better integrate the doggie accommodations?

No need. We have been crate training her for a year now. The crate will probably go in the laundry soon and we won't close it anymore. It will be her bed when she needs it and will have the run of the house. At least that is the plan.

Regarding the dog. I was just reading news about a couple who couldn't agree on keeping their dog. The woman wanted the dog to go, the boyfriend insisted on keeping it. When the boyfriend returned home, he found the dog duct taped to the refrigerator door.

He ended up keeping the girl friend and getting rid of the dog. I think this was a big mistake. The precedent is set. One day he will find himself taped to the refrigerator door.

Anyhow, this was a good story for a Friday and thought you might enjoy.

Very nice work! I'm also building two beds for my children but they follow the classic style. You had a good idea.

Just found the woodworking forum and saw your plans / build. Looks Great. I actually just designed a similar bed but as a Queen Bunk Bed, that can be converted in the future to a loft style if we move one of the kids to a different room. I need to get some help rendering but maybe I'll post the project here too.
