Special adjust Mode
-
Hi Cphillips and All SketchyPhysic's Friends
Would it be possible to implement a special adjust (running) Mode during Model building ?
Some groups may collide even if they seem to be separate. We experiment thoses effects
only when starting the simulation (run). I 've thought, it could be useful to have a running mode where the blue frames are visible, so we know immediatly which groups may be involved in faulty positionning.here are the blue frames I speak about.

Don't you mean the physical geometry? That would be pretty useful.

I am not sure I understand exactly. But it sort of sounds like what happens when you set the "showcollision" flag. How would this be different?

I think he means showing it in authortime, without running the simulation...

He said "Some groups may collide even if they seem to be separate" and from his screen shot, it looks like his cylinders are set as a box, and the corners will collide but to the eyes, it shouldn't. Set the cylinders as "Cylinder" and the collision should work normally, if not, set them as "Convexhull".

Hi all, thanks for the Posts.
The previous drawing was just an example, to describe exactly theses blue frames.
Here is the problem I was facing, (I solved it by resizing antenna block !)
Each block has its own properties (cylinder, or default, convex...)
But the cylinder is "crossing" the Antenna group and therefore, will block antenna movement.
Some strange behaviours of moving models often are due to bad or inaccurate positioning,
I 've experienced that several times, and it's a bit annoying not to find why or where!MALAISE

I see. The best thing for that is to use either the showcollision or debug->"Read Back Collision Geometry". I cant do it in real time because it requires the physics engine to be running.

Hi CPhillips
Ok, thanks for the feedback. I noticed this feature, but didn't know its use. I'll look at this, soon.MALAISE
