    hi every one...
i would like to export a sketchup scene as a jpeg or png format in exactly the same size as the size of the render ( i use vray for SU)...so i can overlay them in photoshop
but their sizes always differ...even when i set the render size to the size that i save the jpeg...
i got a link for vraytoys.rb recently....but the ruby just doesnt to work ...i would get an error whenever i load sketchup....i use sketchup pro 6...
could somebody suggest a way to fix this or even another link ...
your help would be really appreciated ....

    thanks.....

The quickest fix is putting both images in different layers in Photoshop, selecting the upper layer and using"difference" as the merge mode. This will allow you to [almost] precisely match both images.

Also, make sure that you haven't used the "Fix aspect ratio" ruby, as it seems to produce mis-matching between the field of view of renders and that of SketchUp output. If you did, copy everything and paste in a new file.

I don't use v-ray, but just in case, look for a setting called "Field of View", or "camera angle" and make sure the value matches the SU camera.

What version of V-Ray for SketchUp do you have? What does the error say?

          hi thomthom,
this is what the error says "Error Loading File vray_toys.rb
No such file to load -- VRayToys/vr_camera.rb"
          and i use vray 1.0

You get that error because you haven't got the whole plugin, just the vray_toys.rb file. If you go to the thread I linked to in my previous post you can download the whole plugin.

However, it won't do you much good I'm afraid for your intention of matching the render with the SU export. The original VfSU, which you have, does not line up at all. The closest you get is setting the V-Ray camera zoom to around 0.7-0.8, then you will have to tweak it manually in post.

It's only after Service Pack 1 that the camera will be able to sync up. The latest VfSU version is SR1.5 (1.05.30). Download links: http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=90&topic=5531.msg30095
Note that there are some significant differences between the versions, and upgrading old models might need some work.
