What about a tool that work like the erase tool, but applies materials instead? And even brush size (area of effect) like the sandbox smoove tool?

I have always liked something like this but now as in SU 7 you can make any texture unique (i.e. even a tiling texture whose multiple instances cover a face can be ONE big texture now) and you can edit it easily in an external image editor and on save the texture in SU updates automatically...
To me it's already here (kind of). Maybe it's two more steps/clicks (make unique > edit). I hope not to sound negative though...

i think its better to have this idea, in terms of applying, you can overlay materials with another material
