Blah11's Sketchup Gallery Updated "better rendering"
-
Here's some of my sketchup work I am mainly interested in gundam so you will see most of that in here.
I am looking for new ways of doing things and also seeking out plug-ins to help me if you know of any good plug-ins don't hesitate to tell me.

Hi Philip and welcome to SCF!
True I'm not a fan but modeling is modeling and I like what I see. As for rendering 2D output, I'd turn off endpoints (and extensions?) in the Styles> Edit > Edge settings.
I myself turn them on occasionally when working with complex, curved structures (to see where the vertices are) but I think when you want to show off your work - and especially such a detailed one - they are a bit distracting.
Have you thought of texturing it with more realistic images than simple colours? And why are you posting screenshots when you could export images with custom settings from File > 2D export?
BTW our current "speed modeling challenge" is about robots. You have to model something within 30 minutes. Are you interested? Special prize: the winner's name appears in a different colour and with a special rank (something like challenge winner or what).
All in all, cool model!
Edit: I have embedded your images so that people don't have to click on the links. Hope you don't mind.

I forgot to do that sorry I usually do that to show off my models. Anyway I am not going to be joining the robot contest sorry, though I have joined this contest and have gotten 2nd =]

and thanks for theI have been seeking out peoples opinions about my sketchup work and looking around for diffrent ways of doing things because my BIG project is comeing soon. The one that will make everything in my sketchup warehouse look like junk. I really been looking into plugins since my last one helped me out allot with curves.
This is my next project http://mahq.net/mecha/gundam/0080/ms-18e.htm and im scared.

Ah, yeah. A lot of curvy surfaces; definitely a bigger challenge than the present one! Nevertheless don't get discouraged if it won't come out perfect the first time - try and redo-redo many times to make it better than the previous.
There are a whole lot of cool plugins also that can help.

If anyone is interested I finished the model

Well Blah11, you're certainly better than I! Keep up the good work.

Your work looks good to me, my only suggestion is to keep down file sizes remember to cut symmetrical body part components in half and then copy/flip them, and for making curved surfaces don't underestimate the scale tool (especially Fredo6's Freescale plugin)
There are some good tutorials for modeling Gundams Here

I do cut in half and swap, I get rid of the lines afterwards because it can actually mess with the curves if you dont.
BTW that guide got me started also by the same guy he added a face plate tutorial to the sketchup warehouse http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=88ad07ffef4f430387f76e84a9a1319a&prevstart=12
