Adding menus to the Layer and Material windows?

I'd like to be able to add some menu items to the context menus when you click the material list or layer list in SU. Any way of doing that?

If you are serious about this we really should get a thread going and the subject can be "Please bring the Back button, Umm, well, Back!". I have seen many others comment about this. I really miss the old componet browser and most of all that back-back-back button
