Calling all plug-in developers!
-
Dear Plug-in creator,
I am writing to ask you to talk to me as part of a unique study into the use of CAD tools to support architectural and civil engineering projects. In particular, Sketchup is helping architects to convey their ideas and communicate with other professionals in a new way, and we are aiming to develop a view of best practice in this area.
The first stage of the research has already been completed, and for this second stage we are focusing on the plug-ins available to Sketchup users. The nature of your participation would be a short (10-minute) online discussion via msn or irc which will cover a range of topics from the inspiration behind your plugin to your future plans for it.
We intend to present the results in a paper that will discuss the findings at an aggregate level – ensuring the anonymity of participants – and which we hope will provide a useful picture of current best practice for Sketchup. We will send you a copy of this paper in recognition of your time and inconvenience.
If you are interested in participating in this study, please reply to this post or pm me details of how you would like to be contacted. Alternatively, I can email the questions for you to return when you have the time.
Just to provide some background on us, I am an architect working with Cambashi which is an independent market research and consulting company working primarily in the field of computer aided design and engineering. In addition to undertaking a wide range of research and consulting work, we maintain the industry’s most comprehensive model of the worldwide CAD/CAE market. The results of much of our research are available free from our website http://www.cambashi.com and you are most welcome to visit our site and download any material that may be of interest.
Thank you and best regards,
