Pardon the dross-posting to Features Requests, as I'm not sure where this properly belongs.

I'd like to see an extension of the scaling mechanism.

Simple objects are no problem, I can select part of them and scale it and the rest follows. Complex objects can't be tapered this way.

Could there be another modifier key to use with Scale? We use Option/Alt to scale about center and Shift to toggle Uniform Scale. Maybe Command to scale just an end or side of the object?

I think of this working by scaling across the side of the grid of scaling handles, rather than through the center as Scale works now. I've made a simple file that shows what I mean.

DrawMetal™ provides plugins (extensions) for SketchUp® for drawing curved tapered shapes common in architectural and ornamental metalwork and for calculating the amount of stock required to fabricate the tapers.

That's a very cool script indeed! What a time saver! And with rather complex geometry, too!

Yes, Gaieus, is very cool, I wish I could use it as soon as possible, but I don't have a project to work in it.

            best regards
