I was going to post some but Photobucket won't upload them. I will try tomorrow.

        Patrick,

Edit- I will attach them instead, there isn't that much detail anyway, it is early days ๐Ÿ˜„

Nice amount of detail right now. Nice clean modeling from what we can see.

Well, first if she is a ship pre-1980 for the sheer you do this:

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/001.jpg

if you want the how to be higher than the stern or viceversa you simply rotate the model but make sure the two lines that indicated in the pic go up the blue axis.

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/002.jpg

After that you then copy the cure spaced equally apart down the hull:

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/003.jpg

Then draw virtical lines through each section of the curve:

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/004.jpg

You then select all and intersect with model.

Do what is shown in the pics:

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/005.jpg

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/006.jpg

To make the shape of the hull simply pull each point out for you desired look:

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/007.jpg

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/008.jpg

You do the same to the stern except leave a gap for the curve to go:

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/009.jpg

to make the curve of the stern you simply connect the two sides by drawing curves (but make sure the angle of the curve keeps with the sheer of the ship:

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/0010.jpg

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/0011.jpg

Make sure all the curves are connected aswell.

As for under the waterline follow the pics:

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/0012.jpg

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/0013.jpg

                http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/0014.jpg

The stern is a bit more complicated but for now just do the same as the bow but place a keel in the middle.

I apologise for my inability to write instructions well. This method is the result of 2 years on SU. I'm sure there are many many easier ways to do a hull.

You can always do a flared bow (see QM2 bow) too but it is best to focus on the simpler things first.

                Anyway ๐Ÿ˜› thanks for the comments there are no updates yet;

                Thanks, Patrick

Patrick, thank you for the details of how you build the hull. That was great! FYI, you could achieve the same "grid" by using the sandbox tools. Give it a try and see what you think. ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks, i would have thought there are many more ways of doing a hull that are much easier, like delftship but even that program can be hard to master. Tinanne thanks for the tip much appreciated ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have a few minor updates, i haven't been doing much work on her due to SU playing up. here they are:

                    http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/0001.jpg

                    http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/0002.jpg

                    http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/0004.jpg

I also have an image of her in VS:

                    http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll114/paddy3443/Vs2008-12-1300-02-02-92.jpg

                    Regards, Patrick.

P.S. sorry for the images being cut off.

Now if you can just make into one of those isometric cutaways where you can see all of the internal spaces that would be very sweet! ๐Ÿ˜„

The only interiors will be the Bridge and the sports bar aft, where the tennis court is. I would do others but she is meant to go into VS and you have to be conservative on the polys unless you want to crash the game.

                        Patrick,
