Req script to draw squares by specifying the area

I'm working on some basic massing models of office facilities. The models are just boxes positioned on the site. The typical spec says "Client Smith requires x metres squared of floor space. The maths is simple but it would be a little quicker if I could draw a square by specifying its area.
Anything out there?

You could use the Make Room with ceiling height set to 0. (I tried it and its said there was an error with zero height but still created the square), it was in the free Space Design which has been that has been now incorporated into RPtools, which you load and after 30 days you are left which the free tools from Space Design.

Sorry just Re read your post after posting (must remember to read then read again), you have to type in lengths of the sides, not area 
, but it might help

What I do for my massings, is just make an excel file and enter the program into that. One of the columns is =sqrt(X:#). In this way I have a squartfootage and the lengths of the sides, however if the rooms factors to a nicer rectangle, use that. I make all the boxes 8'-10', depending on the function. I usualy through some people and desks and chairs and such for scale. Then I take a bunch of pictures from about, put it in AutoCAD, and print to scale, and then lots of trace! I find its a lot easier to do bubble diagrams and start getting into schematic design with these scaled boxes. I usually don't go back into sketchup until I have a better idea of what I want.

actually it is quite funny that you should request this at this time, I am just now making some scripts for this use, as I know how often we architects use this.
I hope I will be done with the scripts this weekend, but cannot promise. They work in a very rudimentary way now, they do what they are supposed to, but they need to be a bit more user friendly.
Basically, it's like this: one script for drawing squares by area specification and one for drawing circles. and then a third script for transforming elements while keeping their area.
They are really simple scripts, but they can do wonders for area studies.

I have a tile maker.rb file I created. It can be used to make cubes of uniform dimensions of a selected area.
I don't know if this tool would be helpful for what your are describing.
