SCF very slow lately?
-
it was a little slow for me yesterday, but i think it was my ISP throttling everything down.
-
Thanks Remus,
One of my colleagues just told me he's been having problems with our broadband connection so I guess it's just us.
-
Probably is on your side, I use Chrome and the speed seems normal on my side. However I use MS 'One care' and do all maintenance from main machine to other rigs on my network twice a week and noticed that GSCF slows down considerably during that process yet other websites run normally ... dunno why.

I haven't noticed any difference here on Firefox
-
Thanks guys,
It seems our wireless network is playing up today- I just connected by cable and SCF is now racing.

-
Today and yesterday this happened to me a couple of times: moving to a subforum took ages, and it finally appeared as a text-based page.

I got a couple text based pages as well. Today has been very slow.
-
Hmmm, even with the cable, SCF is running very very slowly for me today. Not seeing this on other sites.

If you are still on XP (Vista has seen fit to remove the Run box) type in the command line:-
tracert http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scfYou'll see the Traceroute program back-tracking from server to server and might spot where the bottleneck is.
Edit: That's the entire line, not just the address that has hyperlinked itself in my reply -
Thanks Alan. I edited your post and made it a selectable"code" so that it is not automatically hyperlinked. I hope you don't mind.
-
Thanks Gai.
Actually I found you can still run Traceroute on a Vista machine. You just have to go to C:\Windows\System32 and double-click command.com, then type tracert followed by any web address in the box that pops up. -
Thanks guys,
Turns out it was my wireless connection overriding my cable connection, when I disabled my wireless SCF loaded fine again. Doh!
